Tethered capture in Lightroom

Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 at 8:57

Lightroom has a setting called “Tethered capture”. Basically this imports any shot you make while the camera is tethered into Lightroom instantly. This is cool for studio work, you can make a capture avoiding any camera shake – and you can see the actual results immediately.

I’m starting to see why the Retina Macbook is a great machine for photographers.

Skaters

Location: Stadspark, Antwerpen.

Notes:

  • Make sure there are good skaters around
  • Late afternoon is not a good time, most skaters are tired already
  • Make friends with them
  • Continuous shutter is your best friend
  • Get low
  • Shooting street skating is much easier than shooting vert
  • 7 year old kids drink 0.5L Monster energy drink (wtf?)

D700 impressions so far

I’m liking the D700 so far. I haven’t been able to test it all that much but what I’ve found is that it’s a lot more reliable than my D7000. It’s focus is better, mainly, “it just works”.

What is the reason? Why are there fewer misshots? Is it because the sensor catches that more light? Is it because I can actually see what I’m doing because of the larger viewfinder?
